THE “Y” FACTOR – Obeying GOD with ease!

Jeremiah 29 vs 11; “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the LORD “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (NLT)

The exciting thing about the above verse for me is that the LORD said this! That is enough to boost confidence in me that as long as I am in HIS will I have a good and hopeful end! This gives me so much calm and great peace. The question is are we ready to be at the center of this perfect will, or do we sometimes feel weary or in local terms feel that HIS wahala is too much?

As we are all making our lengthy and exciting plans for the New Year 2016, it is more than expedient for us to make those plans before the LORD. That is the BIBLE’S formula for prosperity (2Chron 27:6). Secondly and most importantly, we must obey GOD’s instructions to us for the year. JESUS will always inspire us to focus on a particular thing, place or idea in this year. You may ask how I know this. You agree that if you have plans for someone, as much as it lies in your power you would let that person know about them, wouldn’t you? As simple as that, JESUS thinks so too.

The scripture referred to earlier says “King Jothan became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the LORD his GOD” This seems to me that Jothan simply took GOD’s plan and made them his! That is GOD’s formula for prosperity. The LORD we serve desires that all things be according to HIS principles and HIS perfect will too. One very easy and accurate way to plug into this is by heeding all of the LORD’s commands to you through HIS word in 2016 and beyond. Obedience to drawing near to HIM and seeking HIM more and more, then obedience to accepting HIS righteousness, being transformed in our minds and living above reproach and corrections. Living that high calling, yes that’s it. A high calling with high responsibilities.

It is a call to living been cautious of what JESUS considers right or wrong. It is a greater call to perfection where the things of the LORD is concerned. It is a call to paying close attention to those EXACT area(s) you feel drawn to where the WORD of GOD is concerned or that particular thing GOD has said to you or drawn your focus to.

Finally and majorly, why you must not ignore the call or stop practicing it mid-way during the year and why you mustn’t give it up for anything else!

You will agree with me that if you do not have a specific reason for going left for example, then a change of direction to the right is completely right so long as it is more convenient, more comfortable and shorter. This article hopes to give us one reason to hold on to GOD’s commands and principles this year and not make any turn from it. It aims at letting you know why thereby giving you a Y factor.

The BIBLE talks about the LORD having good (positive) plans for us. This shows us that the instructions and ways HE leads us are certainly for our good too since they are supposed to lead us towards the hopeful future which HE has planned for us. Does this make sense?

The BIBLE says “I lay before you, life and death choose life that ye might live.” This verse shows GOD giving us HIS option and there after a choice. HE certainly doesn’t like to force us. However, we can choose HIS will at all times too. And HIS will is that we obey HIS instructions so we might live and live abundantly, to the fullest also because HE wants us to enjoy that great future HE has prepared for us.

Deut 28:1 says “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.”

Showing us that real success is only possible within the will of GOD.

The moment you are at a crossroad and you realize that you are between GOD’s and a choice which doesn’t seem right nor expedient for you, it will also help to realize that GOD’s instructions (no matter how burdensome they feel) will always lead to a life full of liveliness, hope, and as the BIBLE describes it, “a hopeful future”. This means excellence and all the other good things. When you’ve settled this, it will surely help for you to remember that the opinions of the devil (no matter how palatable they might seem) will always lead to death because every time you have a choice to make, it is never between life and less life, it is always between life and death and I mean ALWAYS.

In the case of Adam and Eve for example, it is very clear that GOD’s instructions will keep you in a place of life and HIS instructions always come first (could be at the beginning of a year as this). Any other thing contrary to it at some point, especially when those things are not consistent with the WORD of GOD is not a GODly suggestion and such will definitely be leading to death. So like JESUS did before HIS own tempting moments came, HE fasted from physical food while getting stuffed with GOD’s word so much that HE had exactly what to say when the devil came. Trust me honey, JESUS didn’t say all those just because HE is GOD, HE said all those because HE had put the written word of GOD in HIS eyes, ears and now HIS lips had no choice but to over flow with them. As JESUS spoke the written word of GOD, HE made HIS choice because your life is patterned after whatever words you say! Do you realise that if JESUS didn’t know what GOD’s word said, HE would have fallen just as Adam did in the garden? Oh, Thank GOD HE did! (Check Matthew 4:1-12)

So finally, as we eagerly listen and strive towards accepting and yielding to GOD’s plans for you throughout this year, as large as they may seem, it will help to put them in your eyes and ears and speak them with your lips so that your ears could hear them again and again coming from you and soon all of your faculties will be aligned to HIS words. Then you will see GOD’s word manifest in reality!

 Hold steadfastly to all of GODs plans for you in this year 2016 because it always is for your successful future. There are no two ways about getting GOD’s true success. That is what we term the “Y” FACTOR!
