Anchor: Gen 1:3 And GOD said…

Hello everybody! I am extremely, totally excited to see you again this week. Even more exciting is my introduction of the speak life series to you! The speak life series is a series of writings about words and how they are much more valuable than we have known them to be and I know it is GOD’s desire to bring to us at this moment what great value our words have on us, our present, past and future, our environment and the people around us too. I know that from the very first to the last article in these series, we all will learn a lot and become better people. The write ups will be very straight to the point as we will only be taking one food for thought per week and we will task ourselves to practice and incorporate them to become part of our everyday life.

PART ONE: WORDS ARE ACTIVATED BY FAITH:

Mark 11:12-14; 20-23 New Living Translation (NLT)

As I said in today’s introduction we will take one lesson per week so here goes:

 According to our anchor verse for this series, the reason why GOD said let there be light and light came and it has been till today is only because GOD is a GOD of faith.

We see in HIS WORD how JESUS- HIS SON cursed a tree and it withered!

Just like that? Well, see for yourself -

¹² The next morning as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. ¹³ He noticed a fig tree in full leaf a little way off, so he went over to see if he could find any figs. But there were only leaves because it was too early in the season for fruit. ¹⁴ Then Jesus said to the tree, “May no one ever eat your fruit again!” And the disciples heard him say it

HE gave us the recipe shortly after and it’s easy-

²⁰ The next morning as they passed by the fig tree he had cursed, the disciples noticed it had withered from the roots up. ²¹ Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, “Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!”

²² Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. ²³ I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

One drop of faith! Yes, Just like that!

It is very important to note before we start these series that words work by faith and not by sound. Let us use a practical example that we can all relate to. Certain times in our lives, especially as young children and sometimes even as adults we have been faced with situations where somebody tells you “It will never be well with you” Or cases where in the market place or maybe we once heard that someone swore concerning our business, future or destiny, there is a tendency that we begin to fear these things and one thing I know about fear is that it is misdirected faith. This simply means that fear is faith in a wrong direction and therefore it will answer because faith is a law and it cannot fail.

It is necessary to state here that the devil has no power over us as believers except that which we give to him and that is why he wants to make us fear and speak words of fear because we are what we say and only then can we be affected by what he plans. Ever stopped to think that somethings happen to us just because we have given it life through our thoughts? Those thoughts can either be fearful or faithful. Job speaking said: 
“What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true” (Job 3:25).

 While JESUS said: Have faith in God. ²³ I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
(Mark 11:22-23)

Think of it this way, every week we go to church and words of blessings are spoken over us each and every service. How is it that we are not as focused on the blessings as we are on the curses? We must see that blessings come more often as we are blessed by GOD all the time and they are much more powerful.   

Remember: What you receive and believe is what you conceive and whatever you conceive you are empowered to achieve.

So yes, Words can be spoken from any angle but they are activated to work only by faith. Isn’t that exciting? It should be challenging too because now we must work at believing the right kind of words and may I suggest- GOD’s words only!

So next time you hear a word from somebody that wants to activate fear inside of you, choose to activate faith in GOD’s word and in every blessing that is packaged for you inside of HIS words. Choose to believe them, choose to meditate on them. And remember: As a man thinks in HIS heart, so is HE. So never think that anything can harm you. Instead, meditate on the fact that GOD has great plans to prosper you and that’s all that matters!
