"Who is like
you among the gods, O LORD--glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing
great wonders? Ex 13:11 (NLT)
Hello everyone! I am super grateful that you had a lovely
week and extremely excited that you could make it again today to read MONIC’s
post, you are loved!
Today’s topic, “Compliments” defined by the Oxford
dictionary has various meanings, but I will do quick merge to express what
exactly our discussion is about, talk a little on this subject matter and then
share a surprising complementary story with us. Please enjoy.
Compliments; “A polite expression of praise and
admiration, making statements that imply praise and respect to its receiver” We
all are quite familiar with the term, and especially on Sundays as this when we
are all gorgeously dressed in our Sunday best, anyone is elated who receives a
compliment form somebody especially having put a lot in place and enjoyed reduced
hours of sleep resulting from spending extra time putting your outfit in order
and/or getting dressed, receiving a compliment or many is about the only reward
and truly that could satisfactory.
It’s really a nice thing to do to give a person or two
compliments and please do not wait for them to give one and then you simply
return the favour. Be the first to issue out compliments when you see people.
Do not also wait for only those who look “drop dead gorgeous” before you give a
compliment. Compliment their carriage, smile, efforts etc. These things mean a
lot and they definitely go a long way to help boost their personal confidence
or in giving them a more healthy perception of themselves and then if you allow
it to grow, it draws men to you and grants you favour. What’s more, as our
anchor scripture reads, compliment GOD. Compliment his fantabulous creation
skills and the way HE holds everything up in HIS mighty power. I went in search for the dictionary
definition because it defined compliments as praise, which as members of this
kingdom, we owe to GOD above anything else we could give HIM. Compliments are
sentences that connote praise and respect. Next time you pray, add a sentence
or two of such, what’s more? Make the whole prayer a compliment!
Now for our story: ‘Once, I was in a class room where the
lecturer had begun his lecture. Suddenly certain students came and stood by the
door in suspense for his permission to come in. The moment the lecturer became
aware of their presence at the door, he approached the door and began to shot
it at them, they began begging and trust me, this man was in no mood to give
in. Suddenly a student from the begging lot said “Sir your shirt is really fine
o” My lecturer gave in with a smile and let the whole pack in for the lecture.
It dawned on me the power of praise in short sentences of compliments and it gave
me a vivid picture of what JESUS does when we turn our petitioning to praise.
Let me say here that you can
ask in doubt but you can never praise in doubt. Praise is a vital expression of
faith, this is because praise is thanksgiving and “thank yous” come when a deed
has been done.
Celebrating JESUS in compliments and praise daily is a
vital way to accrue GOD’s favour. If a mortal could be this vulnerable to
praise how much more our KING.
I guess we just got the right buttons to press in this new
week and as Christmas season is unfolding. Please endeavour to give a
compliment daily, you never know, it may even mean much more than a billion
Naira to certain lives. Some persons put in a lot into how they look, so once
you sense that this person put in such efforts, please say so. More so, they
could be certain people who just need that compliment to change their mind
about what they feel about themselves. Dear you, give it out freely.
And then to GOD, I believe HE deserves all the praise for
the year thus far. Look! 2016 is already here, JESUS has been faithful
therefore call HIM so.
I love you beyond words, you’re truly smart and I really appreciate
the way you read MONIC weekly #WeekofCompliments.
