Ps 105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings
for their sakes;
You’re probably familiar with Exodus 22:18- KJV says ‘Thou shalt not
suffer a witch to live.’ Thinking on the above
scriptures, I couldn’t help but ponder on the word “suffer” and how it has been
repeatedly used by the LORD in HIS WORD. Here, it is referring to every
activity of the devil as suffering-his living as suffering, his moving as
suffering, even his harming you is suffering. It gives has constantly given me
this imaginative picture of the devil all chained up around his neck as a slave
and every single thing he does is a burden and please believe it dear one, that
is his current status since the events of Calvary. Yes, his walking, talking,
being, seeing is all suffering and this is simply because he is a defeated
slave! Like one who had a territory before but has been defeated, his terrain
conquered and as if that is not enough, he and his subjects have been taken away
as captives. It is high time our mind set as believers be reconstructed as regards
who is boss on this earth.
The BIBLE calls each and every one of us Kings and priest
and permits us to reign in the earth. (See Revelations 1:6; 5:10) When somebody
reigns, in modern day terms, it simply means that he or she is boss when it comes
to that area. When JESUS left us here, we were commanded to occupy till HE
comes. Kenneth Copland referred to Occupy in this
context as a military term meaning to hold possession, or control, of conquered
troops and territory. Also,
we are not of the offensive, he (the devil) is! Very often I hear people say
(referring to the devil’s power), that even JESUS called him the prince of this
world. (John 14:30).
Number one, looking at the word world used as this environment Please read the latter part of the
vers, it was after JESUS died and rose again, HE put a different person on top
and that is you and I. HE acknowledged that satan had no power over HIM. The
BIBLE says we are sited with HIM, so since CHRIST doesn’t suffer, then we have
no right to. Reading John 14:30 further, JESUS did understand that though he
was in the world, he wasn’t of it, and so the rules that guided it, had no
effect on him. He understood that HE was different! HE understood that he is
born of GOD and born of HIS SPIRIT and that applies to us too. Friends if we agree
that JESUS suffered and died and now we live by HIS life, we must agree that we
triumph too in HIS triumph.
Secondly, Looking at the world as a mind set or pattern: Romans 12:1 “ I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service.” The
BIBLE says we are translated into HIS glorious kingdom, so we are simply not
part of the devil’s fold condemned into suffering. The world JESUS was
referring to was no this physical earth that we see as in the environment or
this sphere, scope or domain. It simply referred to the world in John 3:16.
Sin. Its mind set. The sinful nature and that nature JESUS died and rose to
redeem us from. Yes we were once part of that, but not anymore because as the
BIBLE says, we have been a hundred percent blood bought, fully paid for and we
are now bosses in this earth, we reign. Yes you! You reign in this earth
It’s time to quit walking around the earth as though we
are the ones in defeat and under the devils siege, no! JESUS conquered him,
putting us in charge and making us boss and defeating the devil forever.
Someone once said when next the devil reminds you of your
past, remind him of his future. Next time the devil wants to come on you with a
defeated mind set, turn the tables on him, show him whose boss.
I hope today’s post blesses you. More so I hope you spend time discovering and experiences GOD's redeemed status for you as a believer so you don't walk around less than you truly are. Make a brand new commitment to spending time in
GOD through HIS written word today.
Love u,
MONIC
