Be Spiritually Proactive 1
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but
was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was
also able to perform.
Adults often tell us that in their days they never
actually ate rice or chicken that it was once in year at Christmas or only at
special occasions. When I hear things like that, I thank the LORD! Truly I do
not envy them, I feel it’s a lot better this way where we get to eat those more
frequentlyJ. Unfortunately, today people live
their lives and wait for GOD to “answer their prayers” before they thank HIM.
They wait until something bad happens before they pray or they wait till they
are in dire need. Somebody say #ReactiveChristianity! “O ma se o”! (lol, Yoruba
for it’s a pity)
What I am saying is that there is more to life and
loving JESUS than that partial encounter, don’t miss out, it’s too important and
trust me it’s sweeter this way. For today we will start with praise and
thanksgiving and how it should be every day and not for special occasions! We
will begin to see that there is little that HE has not done
Bringing it down to our normal everyday life,
appreciation and thanksgiving are things we do when someone has done something
good to us. They are acts of gratitude for what someone has done or someone
has said. So in our normal and known terms, it is a reaction. The thanksgiving
and appreciation GOD writes to us today is an act that I have seen in my life as
an individual and it provokes a blessing because it is a huge mark of faith as
our anchor scripture shows. The BIBLE says that Abraham didn’t stagger at the
promises of GOD but in the waiting season, he wasn’t wasting but praising!
Abraham didn’t make it a reaction, he made it HIS proaction.
I’m not a fan of spiritual reactions at all, why wait
for the turbulent times before we pray, why wait for GOD to do something before
we say thank you. If we say we love HIM, loving HIM should be our actions too. I’ll
close with this, early today, meditating on some things, the LORD told me the response
to doubt and doubtful thoughts is “thank you JESUS” and there I made a
decision, “I will not let the absence of what GOD is yet to do blind me from
all that HE’s already done.
You could make the choice with me too, and it will
surprise you what the LORD has done!
I love you wholly!
MONIC!
I've been blessed and encouraged by this post, thanks Joyce!
